THE RACING POST'S 25th ANNIVERSARY WEEK MONDAY 11th APRIL TO SUNDAY 17th APRIL 2011

THE RACING POST’S 25th ANIVERSARY  WEEK  THURSDAY 14th APRIL  2011

NAILBITER FOR CECIL
Peter Scargill reports: ”Henry frets over fitness of his horses as return of FRANKEL looms.”

“HENRY CECIL yesterday expressed some doubts about the readiness of  his heavyweight string led by the mighty FRANKEL after stablemates  SPECIFIC GRAVITY and Derby hope MIDSUMMER SUN disappointed when well fancied on Newmarket’s opening day.

“MIDSUMMER SUN had been cut for the Investec Derby in recent days and was sent off  the 6-4 favourite to make a winning start to his career in the 1m2f  three-year-old maiden but only managed  a toiling fifth of seven runners.

“Earlier, SPECIFIC GRAVITY  had faired a little better in the 1m1f Listed Feilden Stakes, finishing 4th of seven after dropping out of contention in the final furlong

“The concerns come, as Cecil prepares to saddle last season’s joint- champion juvenile
and odds on QIPCO 2,000 Guineas favourite FRANKEL in the Tote Sport.com Greenham Stakes at Newbury on Saturday.

“FRANKEL has impressed many on the gallops this spring and was the subject of  a colossal £550,000 bet for the Guineas with Victor Chandler this week  Cecil fears FRANKEL’S a bit short of work.”

CLIVE COX STABLE TOUR.
“Inside track  from the Lambourn trainers thriving yard.

TRAINERS TO FOLLOW IN THE TRIALS
Insight from stats guru James Ptman.

“HOT HANAGAN champion flat race  jockey and trainer Richard Fahey on the money again as BAREFOOT LADY’S  Nell Gwyn win seals big- race Newmarket double.”

“PRICEWISE CRAVEN DAY SPECIAL 16-1. The service the bookies fear with a big-priced value bet for today’s  top action at Newmarket.”

COLIN RUSSELL Page 10. "Lynch not afforded justice by BHA. It's backdoor justice-tantamount to an open ended sentence.

"JUSTICE, which is defined as 'fairness'  or  'the exercise  of authority in the maintenance of right',  is the province of the BHA. It is the only authority entrusted with both issuing and revoking licenses, and in an ideal world we could assume that it does so within the framework of  its own rules and without fear of favour.  But does it? ..... The Christian ideal of  'forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us'  is clearly lacking in the portals of power down High Holbourn way."

JMC'S Turfcall Comment: Bloodhorse Literacy vitally needed in key issues as this, has been ignored ongoing over decades. Not needed, not even recognised, as of no account decree the Bloodhorse Illiterate Regulators.  No such balance has been allowed within any and all areas of  British Horseracing Regulation Structures. It could be said that this negligence left ongoing for so long is directly responsible for the present 'Void Abyss' into which the Bloodhorse Literate achievers are to be thrown and punished, condemned and verbally trashed anialated by all and sundry, labelled as crooks.

THIS NOW NEEDS TO BE NUMBER ONE PRIORITY FOR THE RIGHT SORT OF CHANGE,  BLOODHORSE LITERATE CHANGE.

AN ENGINE ROOM THAT WORKS TO MAINTAIN AND TO PROTECT THE TRUE RIGHTS AND THE TRUE NEEDS OF ALL THOSE WHO HAVE ACHIEVED BLOODHORSE LITERACY ALL THOSE WHO GO OUT EACH AND EVERY DAY TO WORK AT THE DANGEROUS SHARP END OF HORSERACING, TO INCLUDE THE HORSES. AS MARK JOHNSTON DESCRIBED  IT  A DECADE AGO "WE ARE UP THE CREEK WITH ONLY A PLANK FOR A PADDLE."  SO WHAT HAS HAPPENED SINCE, .....
NOTHING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

HORSERACING A UNIQUE AND REMARKABLE SPORT
