SEA THE STAR ? AN INTERESTING PREVIEW HEADLINE IN THE RACING POST LAST SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 10th
TONY O’HEHIR  RP PREVIEW SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 10th
“OXX LOWERS HIS EXPECTATIONS AS  BORN TO SEA MAKES HIS DEBUT

“BORN TO SEA, a half - brother to SEA THE STARS and GALILEO, makes his eagerly awaited debut at the Curragh  today when he faces eight rivals, including five previous winners, at 2.40pm  in the Irish Field Blenheim Stakes. And while John Oxx, who masterminded SEA THE STARS’ unbroken run of six Group 1 victories in 2009, believes that BORN TO SEA , a son of INVINCIBLE SPIRIT will run ‘a nice race’ in the 6f Listed event, he is looking at the contest very much as a starting off point for Christopher Tsui’s colt and is not expecting fireworks. Oxx said yesterday: “Starting off in a Listed race is not ideal but there is no suitable maiden for BORN TO SEA for another two weeks. We decided to start him off this weekend, but getting him out and racing is our main purpose tomorrow (10.09.2011) He should run a nice race and we’ll see what happens, but we’re looking at it primarily as an educational run. BORN TO SEA is entered for the Group 2 Juddmonte  Beresford Stakes over 1m at the Curragh  on September 25, a race SEA THE STARS won in 2008 after finishing forth on his debut at the Curragh and winning  a 7f maiden at Leopardstown.”

JESSICA LAMB  RP REVIEW SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 11th
TALK OF THE TRACKS YESTERDAY AT THE CURRAGH
“ANOTHER STAR IN THE MAKING? BORN TO SEA introduced to Classic betting after making impressive winning debut, 5-2f. With the minimum of fuss the son of INVINCIBLE SPIRIT and Prix L’Arc de Triumphe heroine URBAN SEA was switched around the leaders by Johnny Murtagh and picked up easily to win by a length and a half from  PEARL IN THE SAND 10-1
“OXX had played down expectations of his new charge in the build up to his debut and also did so afterwards. “The main objective was to let him have a nice experience today. He did very well to come off the pace and quicken up the way he did as he was quite green. I’m not expecting him to be his brother again but if he wins something nice that’s great.” Murtagh  added “He’s got big hoofprints to fill but that was a very nice start. He’s not slow and seven furlongs will suit him for his next start.”
“Oxx said that was the plan and that we would see him only one more time this year in the 7f  Group 3 Killavullan Stakes at Leopardstown on October 30th .”
“BORN TO SEA’S dam URBAN SEA died shortly after foaling him and he was nursed by a foster mare.
