Racing Post:

Continued. Your Racing Post Big Read Sunday April 18.

Charlie Mann Pages 25, 26, 27.

Part 2 Step 1: Anything else?

JB: “Mann is right in the groove now, so the tanks are turned on ….

JMC:  Charlie Mann (bloodhorse literate) tells us what it feels like

to be corrupted by UK bloodhorse illiterate authority governments:

The National Trainers Federation:

UK: Randox Grand National 2021:

Bookmakers:

The Toon Army:

Even Football Managers can’t escape them.

I think it is totally immoral that bookmakers are sponsoring yards

and jockeys. Take it further with Football Clubs too.

I don’t think anyone realises how much you have to put into it ….

I’m not disillusioned with racing and will run a few syndicates.

I look at my mates who I see every morning on the gallops. I’m lucky

because I own my own yard, which I will rent out …

There are 29 trainers in Lambourn who rent yards …

Training might seem a natural next step for any ex-jockey,

but Mann, who first came to Lambourn

CM: The National Trainers Federation is next.

JB: CM: “I was on the council” he recalls. “But they never got involved and

sat on the fence with everything – they’ve been a waste of time for us.

It frustrated me, and Ralph Beckett rang me and said he had some bad

news, that I was being sacked basically. I said, “Thank God!”

Feeble excuses for Britain’s no- show at Cheltenham 2021 are “hilarious.”

CM: “I hate bookmakers, says the Scot, who’s plummy tones belie his

Borders upbringing, although he makes his point with the passion and

ferocity of one of Govan’s finest.”

CM: I hate it that I’ve had owners who like a bet and had their accounts

closed. Bookmakers have everything their way. They sponsor a few race’s

and everyone thinks they are great, while the racecourses are pathetic.

because they can’t find anyone else except bookmakers. Should they

even be allowed to sponsor? Remember when spirit companies and

cigarette companies were stopped?

The Big Read: Charlie Mann with James Burn:

JMC: CM: Bloodhorse Literate Copyright:

Your Racing Post Big Read Sunday April 18:

- Pages 25, 26, 27.

Start: Path 1 Step 1:

CM: “I’m not bitter about packing up. I’m stopping on my terms. James Burn

meets the famously forthright trainer Charlie Mann upon his retirement.

JB: “You name it, Charlie Mann has a view on it- Likely a strong one. Prize money.

Betting exchanges. Getting grassed up by a rival trainer for gallops etiquette.

Decrees about kit for stable staff. The equine flue shutdown. The mares’ chase

at Cheltenham. 48- hour decs, have all irked the outspoken journalists’ dream.

JB: “So, as the retiring trainer sits down for his exit interview, is there anything

else he wants to get off his chest? You bet .....

CM:JB: " They should cap yards” Mann says - “Before his ban, Gordon Elliott ran 321

individual horses this season.  How can that be right?  If you capped it to 150 in

Britain, you’d only effect Paul Nicholls, Dan Skelton, Nicky Henderson, Fergal O’Brien and Olly Murphy .... "You’d better make it 120 actually because if you have a monopoly it will go the

same way as Ireland with just four yards.”

CM: "Its disgraceful the money they’re paying people who don’t know

anything about racing. And it seems that they’re completely against us.

JMC:  Suffering eight decades of Bloodhorse Illiterate Power Abuse.

Path 1. Step 2: Areas of Deep Bloodhorse Literate Concern over the last 8 Decades:

Prize money.

Betting exchanges.

Getting grassed up by a rival trainer for gallops etiquette.

Feeble excuses for Britain’s no- show at Cheltenham 2021 are

 “hilarious.”

JB: CM: “What went wrong?  Mann askes rhetorically. “Nothing.” The

      best horses won and most of the 23 Irish winners went through a sale;

you can’t tell me our top trainers couldn’t have bought them – they’d

have been at those sales.”

CM: “What was Paul Bittar’s legacy? Even Nick Rust’s? I like the fella,

but what did he do?  Bring in the declaration of wind ops? I maybe

had 5 horses who won first time out after one, but I only declared one

and that was after the owner asked me to.”

JB:  Anything else?

CM: “I hate bookmakers,”says the Scot, who’s plummy tones belie his
