J. MARGARET CLARKE TURFCALL COMMENT
Richard Hughes and  Robert Winston both bloodhorse literate achievers in their own
right.. The Royal Western India Turf Club and British Horseracing Authority both bloodhorse illiterate.
The failed bloodhorse illiterate working practices ongoing over decades within the BHA are shown reflecting badly world wide in horseracing as today's Racing Post reports show.
Both the Indian and British authorities crossfire blaming the bloodhorse literate as per usual.

 LITERATE IN HIS OWN RIGHT

"His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s love of horses is renowned. Descended from one of the most notable tribes in Arabia, Bani Yas, horses have been part of his life since childhood. His Highness, born on July 15, 1949 is the third son of H.H. Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum ....
"Bedouin culture and traditions are central to his heritage. The desert is a challenging, often harsh, environment so the ability to live in harmony with nature is vital to the people of the region. "OUR bloodstock experts select 50 two-year-olds with the bloodlines to make a big impact this season."

SO MANY EXCITING HEADLINES

TOP PROFESSIONAL HANDLER RIDER GRAHAM LEE TO SWITCH CODES

LEE at present out since dislocating his hip last month says "I'm going to concentrate on the Flat when I come back. I've always had to work hard to keep weight on and since my fall at Southwell even more so. When I got back from hospital I was 9 stone 12lb, now I'm 8 stone

12lb. I can't really face the gym to put a stone back on, so I'm going for the Flat.

"I'm hoping to be back  in the last week of April. It's very different riding a three-mile chase at Hexham to a five-furlong sprint at Ripon, but I'm sure I'll adapt quickly. There's plenty of Flat racing in the north, and lots of horses."

Ladbrokes go 6-4 Lee will ride 50 or more winners. It would be a more difficult task for a professional Flat handler rider to switch to jump racing. When a professional rider has achieved bloodhorse literacy in their own right at the highest level as Lee has, the top Flat riders may find themselves being pipped at the post far too often.

A great RP pic this morning ' NO LOOKING BACK FOR HILLS'
"RICHARD HILLS, who brings the curtain down on his 33-year career in the saddle at the Dubai World Cup meeting next Saturday, looks a picture of contentment on the track at Meydan yesterday. Don't miss Saturday's Racing Post for a great interview with the retiring rider: World Cup latest pages 6-7

JMC, THIS PHOTOGRAPH TELLS A MILLION WORDS IN JUST ONE QUICK GLANCE BRILLIANT.

PREVIEW OF A P O'BRIEN'S TEAM PROGRESS
RP JESSICA LAMB picks up the thread of the start of the Flat race season in Ireland at the Curragh on Sunday with the headlines "Here comes CAMELOT Classic favourite on show as Irish Flat season gets under way.

JL "Eyes will be on O'Brien Classic fancy TWIRL. (4.00 3yo+ fillies and mares. 1m.)
"CAMELOT'S star turn provides the icing as show gets on the road. The first day of the new Flat term is merely a rehearsal, not the real thing - for CAMELOT who along with 39 other horses in training with A P O'Brien are to work along after racing at the Curragh ....

REVIEW
JESSICA picks up the thread again in Monday's Post with pic of 6 horses working in a bunch - "CAMELOT puts in a smooth piece of work under JOSEPH O'BRIEN Jessica tells us, quickening well, up under the stands' rail  ( pic showing 6 horses at the end of a seven-and - a - half -furlong gallop, with CAMELOT finishing second in the first bunch of O'Brien's workers, which also included FAME AND GLORY.

"CAMELOT is a possible but not a definite for Guineas O'Brien tells us "It would be wrong to say that CAMELOT is likely to run in the 2,000 Guineas. The plan was to keep coming along to see where we were and today was the most serious (work) he has been asked to do since the Racing Post Trophy. (2011)

"POWER, a top 14-1 with Ladbrokes for the 2,000 Guineas, was ridden by RYAN MOORE in the fourth and final group - which included EXCELEBRATION, partnered by JOSEPH O'BRIEN - who was kept towards the rear throughout. O'Brien explained he missed a bit of time after Christmas - nothing major - so he was just following up and wasn't asked anything. RYAN was happy with him."

" EXCELEBRATION finished behind FRANKEL on three occasions last year, most recently when second in the Queen Elizabeth 11 Stakes at Ascot, but could well meet him again at Newbury in the Lockinge the obvious starting point for him but that's the first bit we've done with him since we got him , so we don't know. He seemed to track up there on the bridle and JOSEPH was happy with him."

MAYBE, a general 7-2 favourite for the Qipco 1.000 Guineas, finishing in front
of the fillies' group - under JOSEPH O'BRIEN with fellow leading Investic Oaks
fancy WADING (C4 broadcaster EMMA SPENCER Classic fancy) partnered by
RYAN MOORE, and the PAT SMULLEN partnered KISSED close up."

O'Brien said "MAYBE'S done very well physically. You'd be happy with where she is now. We'll see how they all come out of this work in the next week to ten days before picking targets. Coming here means we get a feeler for them and the lads it clears up the picture a bit."

Ballydoyle's 6 intended runners in Dubai on Saturday with SO YOU THINK partner JOSEPH O'BRIEN to challenge for the Dubai World Cup, Sheema Classic challengers ST NICHOLAS ABBEY and TREASURE BEACH, Dubai Duty Free challenger AWAIT THE DAWN and  UAE Derby duo DADDYLONGLEGS and WROTE all made the journey from Ballydoyle to Dubai on Sunday.

JMC TURFCALL Exciting times, calmly prepared to include the horses, from the bloodhorse literate O'Brien Team Ballydoyle.

All 8 having their first away day experience in a race.

WIN DAWN APPROACH 2 9-5 partner K J MANNING handler presenter? trainer J S Bolger for Mrs J S Bolger and J P Spain Evens favourite. With CANARY ROW 10-1 2nd beaten one and three quarter lengths from FORESTER partner J P O'Brien 3rd beaten a head at 9-4.
Bolger tells us about the temperament of DAWN APPROACH  "He is very- laid- back rather unlike his father. He will step up from this, particularly. We shouldn't get carried away at this stage." Sound and interesting info.

The Racing Post sum this race up succinctly "Beautiful ground just on the easy side of good for the first juvenile race of the year in Ireland which the horse the market wanted proved comfortably superior. Generally, these horses raced quite professionally, suggesting they were relatively forward for the time of year."

"DAWN APPROACH provided his sire with his first runner and first winner. NEW APPROACH tended to get a little worked up before racing and the laid back attitude of his son was evident before and during the race. KEVIN MANNING got him to a perfect position and the horse was always travelling within himself.

"MANNING wisely grabbed the rail - a great help to a horse so inexperienced - and the manner of victory was just about as comfortable as it could be. This race rarely throws up a superstar. But DAWN APPROACH is clearly a nice type and bred to progress,  particulaly over further than this 5 furlonges.

LETS TAKE A CLOSER LOOK AT THE TRUE BLOODHORSE LITERATE LICENSED TRAINER  BEHIND DAWN APPROACH - JIM BOLGER.
