WIN: CHRYSANTHEMUM 4 9-11b partner W M LORDAN handler presenter? trainer David Wachman, took a grip tracking leaders, asked 1f out took command to win from TWIRL 3 8-9 partner RYAN MOORE 7-4f by one and a half lengths easily 8-1.
David Wachman quote " She likes an ease in the ground and a horse who was third in a Group 1 last year was entitled to win that. She will appreciate going further and the blinkers helped her to concentrate. We'll look at the Moorsebridge Stakes.
Trainer A P O'Brien of TWIRL "She ran a lovely race and I was delighted. Hopefully, she'll improve for it."
CHRYSANTHEMUM by DANEHILL DANCER out of WELL SPOKEN by SADLER'S WELLS was purchased by John Magnier for £100,000 at the Araqane August Yearling Sale in 2009, the first foal of WELL SPOKEN (jump bloodlines). Earned e52,000 this day. So how good is TWIRL? What do you think?

Another interesting race at the Curragh yesterday :
2.30 Tally Ho Stud European Breeders Fund Maiden for 2yo's over 5f winner e12,075 8 ran.
All 8 having their first away day experience in a race.
WIN DAWN APPROACH 2 9-5 partner K J MANNING handler presenter? trainer J S Bolger for Mrs J S Bolger and J P Spain Evens favourite. With CANARY ROW 10-1 2nd beaten one and three quarter lengths from FORESTER partner J P O'Brien 3rd beaten a head at 9-4.
Bolger tells us about the temperament of DAWN APPROACH "He is very- laid- back rather unlike his father. He will step up from this, particularly. We shouldn't get carried away at this stage." Sound and interesting info.
The Racing Post sum this race up succinctly "Beautiful ground just on the easy side of good for the first juvenile race of the year in Ireland which the horse the market wanted proved comfortably superior. Generally, these horses raced quite professionally, suggesting they were relatively forward for the time of year."
"DAWN APPROACH provided his sire with his first runner and first winner. NEW APPROACH tended to get a little worked up before racing and the laid back attitude of his son was evident before and during the race. KEVIN MANNING got him to a perfect position and the horse was always travelling within himself.
"MANNING wisely grabbed the rail - a great help to a horse so inexperienced - and the manner of victory was just about as comfortable as it could be. This race rarely throws up a superstar. But DAWN APPROACH is clearly a nice type and bred to progress, particulaly over further than this 5 furlonges.
