HURRICANE FLIES IN (10.03 2012)
IRELAND'S CHAMPION TRAINER WILLIE MULLINS HAS THIS TO SAY:

Stan James Champion Hurdle 3.20 Tuesday March 13th 2012
HURRICAN FLY  (IRE)  8 11-10 partner RUBY WALSH
 handler presenter PAUL TOWNEND

"HE'S A VERY SPECIAL HORSE - WE'VE KNOWN THAT SINCE THE BEGINNING

"AND HIS RECORD  of ten Grade 1 wins speaks for itself. All has gone really well with him since his win in the Irish Champion Hurdle . His work and his schooling has been very good and we're all looking forward to seeing him attempt to defend his crown. The ground is going to be safe and he is all set. Will wait and see how they took the trip over and how they have settled in.
"IT LOOKS as if we will have about 37 runners and that makes it our biggest ever team for the festival. We are all in the usual state of nervous anticipation as the meeting approaches."

IRELAND'S CHAMPION TRAINER WILLIE MULLINS HAS THIS TO SAY ABOUT :

QUEVEGA  (IRE) 8 11-5 partner RUBY WALSH

OLGB Mares' Hurdle  4.40 Tuesday March 13th 2012
QUEVEGA  8 11-5  OLBG Mares' Hurdle 4.40 Tuesday March 13th (Registered As The David Nicholson Mares' Hurdle (Grade 2) (Class 1)
"It would be fantastic if she can win the race for the fourth consecutive year. She's in very good form and has had a similar preparation to last year,  going to Cheltenham without a previous run this season. She sets the standard for the race and has to have a big chance of making it four in a row. "

RODNEY MASTERS
"NICKY HENDERSON: happy with ground conditions after walking the course at Cheltenham yesterday. Course is as good as I've seen it."
"A DELIGHTED Nicky Henderson gave a thumbs- up to the state of the ground at Cheltenham yesterday after walking the two courses before lunchtime.
"A pre-festival Sunday tour of inspection has become a tradition for the trainer over the past 25 years and he said : 'In all that time I don't think I have seen the course in better condition before a festival as it is now. There is a really good growth of grass. That has not always been the case in some years after more difficult winters with snow and prolonged periods of frost."

NICKY HENDERSON fields a strong hand of runners himself this week, he has
BINOCULAR  8 11-10 partner AP McCoy to take on HURRICAN FLY in Tuesday's 3.20 Champion Hurdle.

 4 40 Mares' Hurdle tomorrow.

WHAT ARE YOUR OWN ANSWERS?

HENDERSON TEAM RUNNERS ....TUESDAY MARCH 13th 2012
1 30. William Hill Supreme Novices' Hurdle (Grade 1) (Class 1) 4y0+ over 2m winner £56,950
DARLAN 5 11-7 partner AP McCOY.
Team Henderson "Luckily DARLAN was fine after his fall at Newbury. He schooled brilliantly last Friday and looks fantastic; you'd never guess he'd had a horrible fall. AP (McCOY) said he had been very happy with him and added that he thought he was the right type for the Supreme.

TETLAMI 6 11-7 partner BARRY GERAGHTY
Team Henderson "TETLAMI who is best fresh, is unbeaten this winter. I thought he needed good ground but it was quite soft when he won at Sandown."

2.05. Racing Post Arkle Challenge Trophy Chase (Grade 1) (Class 1) for novice 5yo+ over 2m winner £74,035
SPRINTER SACRE 6 11-7 partner BARRY GARAGHTY
Team Henderson SPRINTER SACRE "While I'm the first to accept that PEDDLERS CROSS wasn't right at Kempton, SPRINTER SACRE sauntered round there, as he'd done at Doncaster and again at Newbury. I don't usually pay much attention to race times, but all three runs have been exceptionally quick yet he has finished hard on the bridle every time. BARRY  (GERAGHTY) was easing up from two out at Newbury, but they broke the course record. After the Supreme last year, AP said he was suspicious of his wind and we therefore had that rectified. I know people say he's a flat track horse who won't come up the hill, but I don't subscribe to that. I read that CUE CARD is going to make the running, which is fine."Speciality Handicap Chase (Grade 1) (Class 1)

2.40. Speciality Handicap Chase (Grade 1) (Class 1) for 5yo+ over 3m+
 winner £42.712.50
QUANTITATIVEEASING 7 11-12 partner AP McCOY
Team Henderson "When QUANTITATIVEEASING won at Cheltenham it looked as though this 3m trip would suit ideally. He did run in last season's Irish Grand National and if placed here he'll qualify for Aintree, though we've yet to decide if that should be a target. JP (McManus) also has AIGLE D'OR in this, but he has an alternative engagement in the Byrne Group Plate."

3.20. Stan James Champion Hurdle Challenge Trophy (Grade 1) (Class 1) for 4yo+ over 2m+ winner £210,715
BINOCULAR 8 11-10 partner AP McCOY
Team Henderson " BINOCULAR looks in great shape and everyone is really happy with him. What happened at Wincanton was tremendos, s and it has put a spring back in our step, an run back from a soft palated also in AP's, because he'd been a bit gloomy about him in recent seasons. AP had mentioned his wind after the Christmas Hurdle and it's probably no coincidence Wincanton was his first run back from a soft palate procedure to correct that."

4.00. Glenfarcias Handicap Chase (Cross Country Chase) (Class 2) x-Country for 5yo+ over 3m 7f winner £25,024

4.40. OLBG Mares' Hurdle registered As The David Nicholson Mares' Hurdle) (Grade 2) (Class 1) for 4yo+ over 2m 4f. winner £39,389

Team Henderson has KELLS BELLE 6 11-5 and
VEILED 6 11-3 to take on QUEVEGA,in this race, but are they good enough?

5.15. Pulteney Land Investments Novices' Handicap Chase (Listed Race) (Class 1) for 5yo+over 2m4f+ winner £28,475
 TRIOLO D'ALENE 5 11-7 partner BARRY GERAGHTY
Team Henderson " TRIOLO D'ALENE joined us around Christmas and looked thoroughly professional when winning at Ascot. I've very much liked what I've seen and he jumps well and this trip is right. OWEN GLENDOWER will also like this distance and I've always had an inkling this race will suit. I adore CUCUMBER RUN but concede he has a few quirks.
