Minding The Horses - Training The Horses

NOTHING TO COMPARE WITH CAMELOT partner JOSEPH O'BRIEN

FIVE BRAVE WARRIORS  battled through the storm ravaged turf  at the Curragh last evening to compete for the 2012 Irish Derby worth  e725,000 to the winner.

TONY O'HEHIR brings us all the news from Day Two of
the Irish Derby Festival at the Curragh.

"CAMELOT 1-5f overcame all anxieties about the testing ground, much to the delight and relief of his connections, as he retained his unbeaten record with a two- length win in the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby to give Aidan O'Brien his tenth win in the Curragh Classic and his 19-year-old-son Joseph his first."

Training The Horses - Minding The Horses -

JMC Last Friday Day One of the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby Meeting we took a closer look at the 5.30 The Irish Field European Breeders Fund Fillies Maiden for 2yo's  over 7f .
Going Soft to Heavy

Quote "Licensed trainer JOHN OXX runs two SINANIYA (USA) for H H Aga Khan

partner J MURTAGH.  And PALACE OF WINDS (IRE) partner N G McCULLAGH for Mrs Barbara M Keller."

OUTCOME

 Going Soft to Heavy
WIN: SINANIYA (USA) 2 9-0 (debut run) partner J MURTAGH handler presenter? trainer John Oxx for H H Aga Khan at 11-2  distance, a head from MY SPECIAL J'S (USA)
2 9-0  (debut run) partner P J SMULLEN handler presenter? trainer John Patrick Shanahan
 for  M R Ziegler 12-1

SINANIYA  quickly into stride, took up the running early on, tired in ground, just held on from MY SPECIAL J'S  to take this race.

Both these fillies are worth following especially in better ground. Two for your adventure into horseracing, notebook, a to follow exercise perhaps?.

LETS TAKE A CLOSER LOOK on the third and last day of the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby Festival at the 3.10 as follows:
3.10 Grangecon Stud Stakes (Group 3) (Fillies) for 2yo's over 6f winner e34,125
WIN: Sendmylovetorose 9/2

RUNNERS AND RIDERS

Again a fascinating race to watch and to observe with 8 challengers. Level weights 9-0. All have had a run, some several runs, but all have a lot still to learn. The going remains soft to heavy.

The first thing to note, TRUE VERDICT is the favourite 4-5 trained by David Wachman - Team Wachman  -  owned by Mrs B V Sangster partner W M  LORDAN.

Team Wachman also challenges with SLOPE owned by Mrs Susan Roy partner W J LEE.
This is a very dangerous race to have a bet in. But an interesting one to observe.

BUICK rides AKEED MOFEED
as seven go for Irish Derby
Saturday June 30th (7.40pm) 2012

BORN TO SEA stepping up to 1m4f in the Irish Derby on Saturday has not always been partnered in his races by the same rider.

RP today, Patrick McCann's photograph of AKEED MOFEED partner ALEX DA SILVA in the saddle looks settled and happy at home with John Oxx in Ireland here. The way Alex sits on this colt, the length of rein he has, and the way Alex's gentle hands can be seen here holding the buckle end of the rein, whilst this colt stands relaxed, at ease off the bridle, bides all is going along well.
BUT WILL ANY OF THESE  RUNNERS COMPARE WITH
 CAMELOT and JOSEPH O'BRIEN ?

PREVIEW THE RACING POST TOMORROW
"THE CLOUT OF COOLMORE Julian Muscat takes a closer look at the most influential force in world bloodstock, but have they reached such a pre-eminent position? Julian looks at the senior members of the Coolmore cabinet. "

Turfcall JMC takes a closer look at BLACK CAVIAR and  SO YOU THINK. The stamp of these two horses are different. We do not see horses of this stamp in Britain. They both have the same sort of profile to look at.

We could see BLACK CAVIAR (AUS) plodding round at Royal Ascot last Saturday during the preliminaries. We could see directly LUKE NOLAN was in the saddle that BLACK CAVIAR literally came to life, her head went up, her ears pricked she was immediately on her toes taking it all in like an athletic dancer at the Royal Ballet. And SO YOU THINK (AUS) is very similar in this respect as well.
That LUKE NOLAN has partnered BLACK CAVIAR throughout her career in Australia, this last one here,  all the 22 races she has run and won. Clearly BLACK CAVIAR knows that LUKE NOLAN has achieved true bloodhorse literacy this is the key factor to all  BLACK CAVIAR confidence in LUKE NOLAN.  LUKE NOLAN knows how to mind BLACK CAVIAR, and to keep her safe,  BLACK CAVIAR knows this.  BLACK CAVIAR is able to trust LUKE NOLAN every step of the way. Every move she makes every step she takes.

We see the same with FRANKEL partnered in all his races by TOM QUEALLY.

Every Breath You Take – The Police

Posted by Susan Diamond

Every breath you take is given to you by God. Sting’s old band, The Police, sing of it in the popular classic song “Every Breath You Take.” The lyrics are clear, “Every breath you take, Every move you make, Every bond you break, Every step you take, I’ll be watching you…” The music and melody is fetching. In today’s feature video, you are moved step by step to a higher place, a closer place to God, when you pray with the song “Every Breath You Take.” Try it!

Murray: Olympic glory better than slam win

ESPN staff June 22, 2012 Andy Murray selected for London 2012.
Andy Murray says "winning doubles gold with brother Jamie at London 2012 would be the pinnacle of his career, it could not get any better than that.
"Murray was officially selected to compete for Team GB at the forthcoming Olympics on Thursday, and the world No. 4 immediately targeted winning a medal as one of his "major goals".

RPSPORT 3 THINGS WE LEARNED FROM DAY TWO

Michael Brear

1 "Talented Goffin has adapted quickly ...
"David Goffin reached the fourth  round at the French Open a few weeks ago and there is already enough evidence to suggest he is capable of going on a similar run here. Plenty of people will be lamenting the early exit of rising star Bernard Tomic, who has an impressive Slam record but lost his rag when Goffin got the better of him yesterday. "

2. There's no need for doom and gloom about Robson
"Laura Robson made an early exit at the hands of experienced campaigner Francesca Schiavona, but the signs of Robson's recent improvement were clear to see, especially when she ran away with the first set and battled back before bowing out on the decider."

3. "Nadal's wobble is not a concern
"Those who had backed Rafael Nadal to triumph in straight sets against Thomaz Bellucci were given a real scare yesterday when a slow start by the Majorcan man mountain allowed the Brazilian to race into a 4-0 lead in the first set. Punters have become used to seeing Nadal taking time to find his rhythm in the early stages of Slam events but they'll be delighted to see him showing all his fighting qualities rather slipping into cruise control."

J Margaret Clarke Turfcall comparisons between worldwide sport

SPECTATOR SPORTS

WORLDWIDE TENNIS IS STREAKS AHEAD OF

 WORLD WIDE HORSERACING.

The spectators interested in watching tennis in the main know the rules, if not they very soon get to know the rules for themselves. This needs to apply just the same in horseracing, but sadly it does not, not in Britain anyway.

The spectators interested in watching horseracing do not necessarily know the bloodhorse literatacy rules. As neither do the regulators necessarily know the bloodhorse literacy rules. For all punters worldwide  this is a massive disadvantage. STREWTH for all true bloodhorse literate professionally licensed handler riders' worldwide this is a massive burden to have to bare. For all racehorses this is barbaric.  There is nothing wrong with worldwide horseracing as long as it is bloodhorse literate horseracing.

TWO TOP  SHINING SPORT'S  STARS
Tim Henman (tennis) and Jim Culloty (horseracing) are cousin's.
Tim reaching the top in worldwide tennis, with  Jim reaching the top in worldwide horseracing.
