Minding The Horses - Training The Horses

NOTHING TO COMPARE WITH CAMELOT partner JOSEPH O'BRIEN

FIVE BRAVE WARRIORS  battled through the storm ravaged turf  at the Curragh last evening to compete for the 2012 Irish Derby worth  e725,000 to the winner.

TONY O'HEHIR brings us all the news from Day Two of
the Irish Derby Festival at the Curragh.

"CAMELOT 1-5f overcame all anxieties about the testing ground, much to the delight and relief of his connections, as he retained his unbeaten record with a two- length win in the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby to give Aidan O'Brien his tenth win in the Curragh Classic and his 19-year-old-son Joseph his first."

JMC Last Friday Day One of the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby Meeting we took a closer look at the 5.30 The Irish Field European Breeders Fund Fillies Maiden for 2yo's  over 7f .
Going Soft to Heavy

Quote "Licensed trainer JOHN OXX runs two SINANIYA (USA) for H H Aga Khan

partner J MURTAGH.  And PALACE OF WINDS (IRE) partner N G McCULLAGH for Mrs Barbara M Keller."

OUTCOME

 Going Soft to Heavy
WIN: SINANIYA (USA) 2 9-0 (debut run) partner J MURTAGH handler presenter? trainer John Oxx for H H Aga Khan at 11-2  distance, a head from MY SPECIAL J'S (USA)
2 9-0  (debut run) partner P J SMULLEN handler presenter? trainer John Patrick Shanahan
 for  M R Ziegler 12-1

SINANIYA  quickly into stride, took up the running early on, tired in ground, just held on from MY SPECIAL J'S  to take this race.

Both these fillies are worth following especially in better ground. Two for your adventure into horseracing, notebook, a to follow exercise perhaps?.

LETS TAKE A CLOSER LOOK on the third and last day of the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby Festival at the 3.10 as follows:
3.10 Grangecon Stud Stakes (Group 3) (Fillies) for 2yo's over 6f winner e34,125

Again a fascinating race to watch and to observe with 8 challengers. Level weights 9-0. All have had a run, some several runs, but all have a lot still to learn. The going remains soft to heavy.

The first thing to note, TRUE VERDICT is the favourite 4-5 trained by David Wachman - Team Wachman  -  owned by Mrs B V Sangster partner W M  LORDAN.

Team Wachman also challenges with SLOPE owned by Mrs Susan Roy partner W J LEE.
This is a very dangerous race to have a bet in. But an interesting one to observe.
