Half of women don't think Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, Prime Minister
David Cameron and Labour leader Ed Miliband can relate to them.
Nearly half
of British women feel that none of the leaders of the six biggest political
parties in the UK 'understand what life is like for them and their families'.
When it came
to men, 59 per cent felt that David Cameron, Ed Miliband, Nick Clegg, Nigel
Farage, Nicola Sturgeon, Natalie Bennett (Greens) or Leanne Wood (Plaid Cymru)
could relate to their lives.
The BBC
Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour poll found that just 10 per cent of women felt
that Cameron best understood what life is like for them compared to 15 per cent
of men, suggesting that the party leaders are more out of touch with women.
Interestingly
out of the 975 people surveyed, 44 per cent felt that Theresa May would perform well as leader of the Conservative Party, and 38 per cent
thought Yvette Cooper would do well as leader of the Labour Party.
Alice
Feinstein, Woman’s Hour Editor, said: “As this poll suggests 35 per cent of
women don’t know who they will vote for in the election, there is a great deal
at stake.”
