Going YEALDING (soft in places)

JESSICA LAMB "FRESH flowers, fresh two-year-olds, fresh grass. This is day one of the turf season at the Curragh. It looks every inch the curtain-raiser, the first act, but its not. It's the first rehearsal, offering clues about the plot without giving too much away ....

JMC TURFCALL
AFTER RACING THIS DAY AT THE CURRAGH 40 HORSES IN TRAINING WITH AIDAN O'BRIEN including CAMELOT the Investic Derby favourite will be stepping out on the track, not in a race, but to work along at various gallop paces to suit accurate purpose, as part of their preperation for competition Flat season 2012.

Wondering if the C4 horseracing team will be there to record these gallops?
Bloodhorse literate preperation
two work along upsides on the bridle at a strong half pace.
What pace will A P  O'Brien be asking and expecting of CAMELOT this evening?
Who will CAMELOT be working with this evening?

Racing Post Headline
Tuesday March 20th 2012 by TOM KERR

"KAUTO STAR retirement talk premature says Nicholls
"KAUTO STAR could still return to racing next season after Paul Nicholls yesterday said talk of retirement was "very premature" and that a decision on the record- breaking chaser's future would wait until July"

"The champion trainer added that the struggles and disappointments of Cheltenham, including KAUTO STAR being pulled up in the Gold Cup, had been placed in perspective when  his 15-month old daughter Zara was hospitalised over the weekend suffering from a serious virus."

JMC TURFCALL COMMENT
Following RUBY WALSH pulling KAUTO up early on in the Cheltenham Gold Cup on  Friday March 16th.  Following KAUTO'S nasty fall whilst jumping practice prep at home pre- the Gold Cup.
That KAUTO whilst tackling the big chase fences at Cheltenham in this actual race when asked to fully stretch by RUBY undoubtably caused KAUTO'S injury to resurfaced, the reason why Ruby pulled him up.  KAUTO'S injury tweeked again. There is absolutely no reason why  KAUTO STAR once healed cannot return to his true form, compete again, and perform better than ever to win again.

A falacy to take the view that  Kauto Star be retired and turned out in a field to spend his retirement in bliss.

JAMES PYMAN reflects on all the action from the 2012
Cheltenham Festival (March 13 - 16)
PYMAN'S THEORIES  "FIVE valuable things to take away from a week to remember.
"Still, pumped from the festival, it's time to get some of my deeper Cheltenham related thoughts down on paper before they are swept aside by the arrival of the Flat season (Doncaster Saturday March 31st and Sunday April 1st ) and rapidly approaching Grand National meeting at Aintree ( Thursday April 12 - Saturday April 14). Here are five things to take out of last week's four-day meeting.
"Jonjo O'Neill-trained chasers' often make value in-running bets ....
"Trainer form was a key factor in shaping the festival ......
"Pay closer attention to weight differentials in Cheltenham cross-country chases
"Why was Champion Bumper betting so wide of the mark?
"A mare may have the best chance of beating BIG BUCKS."

Pyman states his Theory, no mention of bloodhorse literate theory .... or bloodhorse illiterate theory.
 What do you think?
Are these 'Bloodhorse Literate' theories?
Or are these Bloodhorse Illiterate theories?
Or are these form theories?
Does it matter one way or the other?
Does it matter one way or the other to you?
What does anyone need to know if they are considering having a bet?
What do you need to know yourself if you are sorting out before placing a bet?

BY  HOWARD WRIGHT  "SHOCK 20% GAMING MACHINE DUTY
 'TO HIT PROFITS BY £48m'

"SETTING the government's take from every betting shop gaming machine at 2o per cent of gross profits - as chancellor George Osborne did in yesterday's Budget - will hit the industry's profits by nearly £50 million, according to the two biggest high street operators.

"With Osborne also confirming a new tax on offshore online operators forecast to bring in £270m a year by 2016-17, Ladbrokes spokesman Ciaran O'Brien described yesterday as "The most expensive day for the industry ever - and that includes Dettori day.....

"OFFSHORE ONLINE GAMBLING TO BE TAXED
"CHANCELLOR George Osborne confirmed yesterday the government will capture tax from the growing offshore betting and gaming market for the first time, writes Howard Wright
"Gross profits duty will be charged on online bets placed by UK-based punters. When the new regime starts in 2014, the Treasury expects to raise £70 million from online gambling in the first term and more than £270m in the third, against zero at present.
"Under the current system, the Treasury collects duty based on the location of the betting operator, which prompted all but bet365 and Coral among major UK firms to move their online operations revenue neutral, an independent study commissioned by the ABB set 16 per cent as the level that would achieve that. ..

RACING POST WEDNESDAY MARCH 21st 2012. BOLGER WARNING TO CHELTENHAM TWO HORSES LOOSE THEIR LIVES IN CROSS-COUNTRY RACE

JMC TURFCALL COMMENT TO CROSS-COUNTRY-KING BOLGER'S WARNING TO CHELTENHAM
IN YESTERDAY'S RACING POST  there was a 'Special Report' after the two deaths in the festival Cross Country race sparked controversy.

JAMES PUGH reports on the fallout from the festival's most controversial race.

BOLGER SAYS "If the course is going to crock horses like that I'll have to think twice
about running horses in the race."
J MARGARET CLARKE TURFCALL WARNING  COMMENT

The short answer to Bolger's warning to Cheltenham Racecourse is truly valid:
Whilst British horseracing is being run, badly handicapped by a Bloodhorse Illiterate British Horseracing Authority (BHA) combined with same British Bloodhorse Illiterate Racecourse
Management (RCA) horseracing is doomed to continue to get more and more dangerous each and every single day.

This does not mean that the Cross Country Course at Cheltenham has to be trashed. It means that 'Bloodhorse Literate' conditions need to be made to apply in such a race. Conditions that the bloodhorse illiterate in the present order of things are unable to comprehend.

LEE MOTTERSHEAD "C4 deal is good news for racing says Bittar."
" RACING yesterday began gathering in support of Channel 4's exclusive terrestrial rights deal with BHA chief executive Paul Bittar forecasting that the headline-grabbing arrangement would 'materially increase viewers' enjoyment of the sport."
"As racing fans started to contemplate without BBC Television for the first time in more than 60 years, Channel 4, which will gain the John Smith's Grand National, Investec Derby and Royal Ascot as part of a four-year contract, further outlined the criteria that companies bidding to produce output would have to meet .....

JMC TURFCALL COMMENT
Many many people living out their last days on this earth, possibly people having experienced broken lives, now frail and unable to cope very well or get out much, rely entirely on following horseracing live on TV each and every day, without which their existence would be entirely derelect.
