“Dead-heat call costs judge his job.

“RACECOURSE judge Dave Smith last night spoke of his shock after being sacked over last

Wednesday’s controversial dead-heat Kempton verdict.

“Dave Smith yesterday had his contract terminated with immediate effect by the BHA.

Smith said “I’ve worked for the BHA for 16 years and this is the first time I’ve done anything

seriously wrong according to them.” No way has Dave done anything wrong.

JMC Comment: Unfair dismissal: The Rules of British Horseracing in regard to photo-

finishes have long since needed updating. Finishes that are found to be as close as this are

DEAD-HEATS end of story. BHA's false objective's there is nothing true or honest about
