CHAMPION IRISH JUMPS TRAINER WILLIE MULLINS BRINGS US HIS FESTIVAL THEORY PREVIEW FOCUS, INTRODUCING US TO HIS
2014 CHELTENHAM FESTIVAL TEAM.

Team Mullins Festival Team 2014
'Squad is out of this world - best yet'
"WILLIE MULLINS is not prone to hyperbole, but yesterday he had no hesitation in proclaiming the team he is sending to next month's Cheltenham festival as the biggest and the best - even going so far as to say the exciting squad is "out of this world" .

"Mullins has been leading trainer at two of the last three festivals and is a general 2-5 chance to land another title next month on the strength that his seven anti-post favourites in the 27 contests, and a team likely to number about 40.

"However, with so many leading contenders - and runners - comes intense pressure

"Mullins admitted at yesterday's media visit to his Closutton yard that relief will be the overriding emotion should Hurricane Fly win a third Stan James Champion Hurdle and Quevega, whose preparation has  not been plain sailing it was revealed, surpass Golden Miller by winning at a sixth festival on the trot in the OLBG Mares' Hurdle. That pair hold the key to his week. Mullins said: "I hope Quevega  wins, I hope Hurricane Fly wins, they'd be huge for us on the Tuesday, "  but to continued:  "Every winner is just a relief, pure relief.

"Fenton steroids hearing likely to be adjourned"

THE case involving Philip Fenton and the Department  of Agriculture, which was due to be heard in the District Court in Carrick-on-Suir today is unlikely to go ahead and may be adjourned to a later date,, the Racing Post understands, writes Tony O'Hehir.

"Fenton, trainer of Betfred Cheltenham Gold Cup candidate Last Instalment, is charged with being in possession of prohibited substances, including anabolic steroids, when his yard was visited by Department  of Agriculture officials in January 2012.

"Sources closer to the case indicated last night they are expecting the case to be put back.

"Another case involving trainer Pat Hughes, who was recently charged in Carlow District Court of being in possession of unauthorised drugs, including anabolic steroids, in February 2012, has been adjourned by Judge  Eamonn O'Brien until May 8.

"Speaking last night Denis Egan chief executive of the Turf Club, said: "We cannot cut across what is going on in the courts and must wait until we see what happens in the two cases. We will be monitoring the situation but at this stage we cannot do anything.

"The BHA have asked us to talk to them after the hearing of the Philip Fenton case and we will have to wait and see whether that happens tomorrow or at a later date" .

"In addition to Last Instalment, who crowned his return from a long absence through injury by landing the Hennessy Gold Cup at Leopardstown 11 days ago,  Fenton trains Dunguib, who won the Boyne Hurdle at Navan on Sunday on his second start following a three year layoff with leg problems. He is being aimed at either the Coral Cup or the County Hurdle at Cheltenham.

"Duel Grade 1 winner The Tullow Tank is entered for the Sky Bet Supreme Novices' Hurdle and the Neptune Investment Management Novices' Hurdle at the festival. "
