TUESDAY DECEMBER 16, RACING POST 2014. MEMORIES OF UNCLE TOBY ANDREW BALDING AND HIS SISTER CLARE SHARE A CELEBRATION OF HIS LIFE AT MARLBOROUGH COLLAGE CHAPEL YESTERDAY

Political editor, South of England
"Ashya King: Did politicians jump on bandwagon?"
JMC: Some politicians-lawyers-horseracing governments need locking up. Not Ashya King’s dad. Preferably before Christmas, they have been on the loose for far to long. Like 6 decades.

"Ashya King's dad said he was 'treated like a criminal' at Gatwick Airport. "

TUESDAY  DECEMBER 16, CH4.  RACING POST 2014
Week Monday December 15, to Sunday December 21.

Graham Dench: “Racing out in force to pay respects to Balding.”

“Chapel packed at service of training great”
"THE chapel of Marlborough College was packed to the rafters yesterday as racing’s royalty joined family and friends to celebrate the extraordinary life of Toby Balding OBE, who died in September aged 78.

“One of the few to have trained the winners of jump racing’s “holy trinity” – the Champion Hurdle, Gold Cup, and Grand National – Balding also won dozens more major prizes under both disciplines and was single-handedly responsible for bringing a young Tony McCoy from Ireland and setting him on the course that has taken him to 19 successive jockeys’ championships.

“In a career that spanned around 50 years and yielded more than 2,000 winners, it was also Balding who enticed Adrian Maguire from Ireland, and who nurtured the fledgling careers of dozens more successful jockeys’ and trainers, many of whom were present to pay their respects and share happy memories.

“His wisdom and vast experience benefited countless individuals who worked for him, or simply sought his advice, not to mention the many institutions and committees with which he was formally involved, such as the National Trainers Federation, the Racehorse Owners Association, the BHB then BHA, and the Jockey Club. His services to racing earned him election as an honourable member of the Jockey Club, and he was later awarded an OBE.
“It was appropriate, then, that this was no ordinary thanksgiving service, and Marlborough College, where Balding attended school, has surely not seen its like before. “

BHA warns small fields are threat to integrity
 By Tom Kerr 2:43PM 16 DEC 2014
“Paul Bittar: said small fields were damaging British racing. “

TRANSLATION FOR RACING RIGHT EQUUS ZONE

JMC: There are far too many racehorses losing their lives on racecourses already, a grim reflection of “ Bloodhorse Illiterate government ignorance. Paul Bittar, just one of the many who have no place in horseracing government, unless under supervision. Bittar has not earned the huge wage he has been paid. Bittar has and is taking a considerable wage under false pretences. He is an impostor. He is not a true horseman.
