"Sir Mark Prescott caused a stir in making a first visit to the track since England won the World Cup in 1966. He was the centre of attention for many racegoers ahead of his bumper runner Sea Pride finishing third of eight challengers. Beaten three and a half lengths. After having every chance.
 
"Perfectly respectable, " was the trainer's assessment over the run with another try in the same sphere being contemplated despite some wags suggesting the run was a new way to start down the road to York in August for another race over the 1m6f trip in the Ebor.  "Prescott was full of praise for the courses transformation since a winning visit in the saddle in 1966 as he remembered the weighing room being in a thatched building which is now hard standing behind the paddock.
 
"I visited Lewis racecourse this morning - I rode at the second - last meeting there when I was 16," he said."

Nostalgic visit to Fontwell for Sir Mark Prescott

Flat trainer Sir Mark Prescott paid a nostalgic visit to Fontwell Park yesterday to run an extremely well-bred four-year-old filly by Sea The Stars in the bumper race at the end of the card.
