BLACK CAVIAR TEAM  V  FRANKEL TEAM?
JON LEES "BLACK CAVIAR TEAM eye crack at FRANKEL to decide who is best in the
world. PETER MOODY yesterday said he may be prepared to let the unbeaten mare meet FRANKEL over 1m at Royal Ascot this summer if  "a big enough carrot" were offered to set up a clash between the world's highest-rated thoroughbreds.

"Buoyed by the ease with which BLACK CAVIAR won her first race at 7f at the weekend, to record her 18th victory, Moody believes she could stretch further in distance to handle 1m.

"BLACK CAVIAR is set to be entered in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes, King's Stand Stakes and Queen Anne Stakes - one of the two royal meeting options due to be on unbeaten FRANKEL's programme this year - but the 1m Queen Anne is not as valuable as the 6f Jubilee, its winning purse being "£85,000 less than the sprint's in 2011'

"The world is her oyster, and while I don't want to open Pandora's box or anything we could even have a crack at FRANKEL, Moody told the Sydney Morning Herald. "If there was a big enough carrot dangled in front of the owners, we might consider it. That would determine who is the best in the world once and for all.

"If she was ever going to pull in her life then it would have been yesterday (in the Orr Stakes) as they went that steady, but she just went to sleep as normal, so that tells me she'd manage further again.."

"Coral quote FRANKEL at 4-6 in a Queen Anne match bet with BLACK CAVIAR (11-10) and Ascot expects to hear more about Moody's thoughts when he meets the PR boss Nick Smith, who will be in Australia to attend Saturday's Lightning Stakes at Flemington, a race BLACK CAVIAR could contest.

"Ascot chief executive Charles Barnett said: "The first thing is for Nick to find out what's on Peter's mind, then we can respond accordingly. Without having had that conversation it's difficult to comment."
No worries as Black Caviar lands 18th win

Report: Australia, Saturday

Caulfield: Sportingbet CF Orr Stakes (Group 1) 7f, turf, 3yo+

DESPITE stepping up in trip, the brilliant Black Caviar (Peter Moody/Luke Nolen) appeared to have little more than an exercise gallop as she completely overwhelmed her rivals to take her unbeaten record to 18 in the CF Orr Stakes.

Having her first start over 7f, the five-year-old was sent off a 1-20 shot before barely breaking sweat as she came home just over three lengths clear of last year's Caulfield Cup winner Southern Speed and Playing God.
