DAVID PIPE "COPING WITH THE WEATHER SO FAR .....
"WE'RE not starting to panic about the weather just yet. It's been cold and frosty here, but we've escaped any snow so far.

"We're well set up with everything we need  -  the all-weather, the indoor canter and the loose school, so we're going along as normal.

"It's just a little bit harder work but everyone mucks in together and gets on with it. It was hard through the last two bad winters as the horses have to be kept exercised but we always kept going and it pays off in the end.

"We'll be okay if the weather forces a string of abandonments. We go a bit quiet now before Cheltenham and I don't think loosing a few meetings will make much difference to us.

"A few of the novices need another run before the festival but we have until February 26 to get a handicap mark - anything's possible with the weather but I hope we'll be able to find somewhere before then."

WALEY-COHEN JOINS OUR BAND OF OWNERS
"I'M DELIGHTED that Robert Waley-Cohen has  sent us a horse for the first time, which is great news. He's an unraced three-year-old by King's Theatre called STORM LANTERN and is out of a good mare in KATOUNE. He isn't over-big, but he is a lovely, well- mannered individual. The idea is to see if he's good enough to run in France."
