"Josh was not only an incredible talent as a jockey and a trainer but also a man of rare humility and kindness. He had a real sense of loyalty. He was a terrific trainer and his handling of ALDANITI embodied that, but for all of his achievements he seemed more interested in others than himself. He was a pioneer in the saddle - the first flat jockey of the modern era to apply the dynamics of Flat racing to jumps. He loved life and knew how to appreciate the good times."
