J MARGARET CLARKE TURFCALL
TAKING A CLOSER LOOK AT BRITISH HORSERACING AS A WHOLE

There are many parts that go to create the whole of the British horseracing adventure for the general public and the punters to enjoy in their spare time, as a day out maybe at the races,
watching on TV etc ...

Each of these parts need to be working properly for British horseracing to achieve its true potential. A potential far advanced from the present Bloodhorse Illiterate state that exists in this country at present.  The past and the present regulation of British horseracing together with government and their political agenda sadly do not recognise true Bloodhorse Literacy, or understand what these two words mean even.

Firstly there is no true bloodhorse literate 'Career Structure' guidance for any and all handler riders just starting out, hoping to build an ongoing career in horseracing. Due no doubt to the fact that within the British political system and British horseracing regulation there are no bloodhorse literate achievers acting therein. Government appear only interested in what money they can take out of horseracing.

Secondly there is no financial wage structure as to true bloodhorse literate achievement, gained upon the career ladder of life.

Government advise all true professional bloodhorse literate handler rider's be paid at the minimum wage. The same wage as the learner/student handler/ riders.

The BHA's bloodhorse illiterate licensing zone, along with government are licensing trainers to employ superstore shelf stackers to come in part - time to handle and ride out thoroughbred racehorses placed in training by owners, to be paid at the minimum wage. What sort of advice is this?
