FRANKIE DETTORI "I've been a good soldier for 18 years, I'm not ready to quit yet, I'll ride for another five years." .
Riding
at the very top of his profession, Frankie has achieved true professional
bloodhorse literacy at the highest level on the world's horseracing stage in
his own right. He has put up with all the bloodhorse illiterate abuse burdened
upon him. eg Partnering THREAT a two year old colt having his debut run at
Goodwood for John Gosden. Finding himself and THREAT in a life threatening
situation in a faulty starting stall. They could both have been killed. Frankie
was blamed by the bloodhorse illiterate regulators for the faulty starting
stall and fined £400.00. A dangerous unjust punishment if ever there was one.
Defies all belief. How on earth have these regulators been allowed to got away with
stuff like this, for such a long time?

THE FIELD gets smaller and smaller as each
day goes by. With CAMELOT, BONFIRE and THOUGHT WORTHY of particular interest.
The
interest in THOUGHT WORTHY is highlighted by his win at Newmarket
on May 19th when he only just managed to hold on from NOBLE MISSION (full
brother to Frankel) in a very close finish, partner William Buick has this to
say about THOUGHT WORTHY'S chances in the Derby on Saturday.
"It
will all be very new to him, but it will be the same for the others, and I'm
confident he'll run a good race. It's all about CAMELOT and BONFIRE but he
deserves his chance and it's the Derby
so anything can happen. He's still relatively inexperienced and he's never run
at a mile and a half. The extra distance will benefit him, but the track is a
worry with an inexperienced horse. He's got a similar profile to his brother
LUCARNO, who was only just beaten for fourth and went on to win the St Leger."

the buzz:
" I''ve ridden BONFIRE since he came in as a yearling and we've been together ever since. I've come off him a few times when he has whipped around quick. He is only a little horse, he is highly intelligent with a playful nature. I will be at Epsom on Saturday to help saddle him. It is simply amazing to be associated with aDerby runner."

The travelling racing hamper will be packed with all the gear that BONFIRE will
