REVIEW YESTERDAY'S RESULTS
PREVIEW TODAY'S CARDS

Andrew Scutts “Ten-year ban for Ahern
“EDDIE AHERN’S successful 20-year career in the saddle lay in tatters last night after he was disqualified for ten years in the latest corruption case to besmirch racing.
BHA “The penalties will serve as a deterrent”

TRAINERS and jockeys were stunned into silence last night by the severity of the punishment meted out to Eddie Ahern, leaving the BHA to proclaim it was “better equipped than ever at pinpointing and prosecuting malpractice”. Writes Tony Smirthwaite. An appeal pending.

Another of BHA's shockingly abusive miscarriage of justice. .Yes Sir, No Sir, Three Bags Full Sir.
Dragged through since January 2011......

Hide given compensation for Cheltenham fall
JUMP jockey-turned trainer Philip Hide was awarded £58,000 compensation for injuries sustained in a fall at Cheltenham in 2006 that resulted in him being placed in an induced coma,
writes Graham Green.

Richard Birch reports “Dettori has not given up on Derby
FRANKIE DETTORI’S agent insisted yesterday the jockey will still have a ride in the Investec Derby at Epsom on Saturday week – if he is cleared to return to the saddle in time.

“Ray Cochrane said: “There are plenty of offers around but we are having to take it day by day. I certainly haven’t given up hope that he will be back in time, and neither has Frankie.”

Part two of our special report p8-9
WITH VIEWING figures in decline, Lee Mottershead talks to Andrew Franklin, who produced Channel 4’s racing coverage until Highflyer lost the contract.

IS C4 RACING OUT OF TUNE WITH ITS AUDIENCE?
J Margaret Clarke Turfcall Comment
No the audience is out of tune with ‘Bloodhorse Literacy’ and the true professional horsemen who have achieved bloodhorse literacy in their own right.  Sadly the British Horseracing Authority Government fail to recognise the part the horse plays in horseracing. Just the same as the British Horseracing Authority Government is out of tune with all those who have achieved true professional Bloodhorse Literacy, as has Eddie Ahern the latest who's life and times career has been sacrificed unjustly by the careless BHA.

The sport of horseracing is all about horses. If members of the public are not interested in horses then this sport is not for them. Or is it?

Without exploring how does anyone know? To watch the art of interaction between horse and rider, the level of horsemanship. An amazing and truly great experience. Horseracing is so much more than just a gambling game.

Check out the amazing art of Peter Biegel  and Stubbs. The amazing art achieved by Frankie Dettori and Eddie Ahern both at present being punished unjustly for their great art.in the saddle, and their love of horses, putting their needs first at all times.
