"SIR MICHAEL STOUTE is aiming to get last year's Gold Cup
winner Estimate in to top form for the defence of her
crown next week, but admits it has not been an easy task.
"Owned by the Queen, who became the first reigning monarch
to win the Gold Cup when the mare triumphed 12 months ago, Estimate has had
only one outing since that famous success, going down in Ascot 's
Long Distance Cup on Champions Day in October.

with last year's St Leger winner Leading Light heading the market at 7-4.
Stoute said on Thursday: "She's had a muscle problem
with her right hind and that's why she hasn't had a preparatory run, so we're
under pressure.
"We've made some good progress in the last month. I
think it's a very tough Gold Cup this year, but I think we're going to run very
well and we'll have her in pretty good shape by next week."
"Stoute, who has had 68 winners at the royal meeting, is
keen to run Breeders' Cup heroine Dank in the Prince of Wales's Stakes at Royal
Ascot, although she could wait for the Oxigen Environmental Pretty Polly Stakes
at the Curragh on June 29.
