2012: three-year-old season[edit]

The Fugue made her first appearance of 2012 in the 1000 Guineas over the Rowley Mile course at Newmarket on 6 May. Starting at odds of 22/1 she finished fourth of the sixteen runners behind Homecoming Queen. Two weeks later the filly was then moved up in distance for the Musidora Stakes over ten and a half furlongs at York Racecourse. Ridden by William Buick, she took the lead two furlongs from the finish and drew clear of her five opponents to win "very readily" by four and a half lengths.[3]

On 1 June The Fugue was made 11/4 favourite for the 234th running of the Oaks Stakes over one and half miles at Epsom Downs Racecourse. The filly fought against Buick's attempts to restrain her in the early stages and turned into the straight in ninth place. She made steady progress in the closing stages to finish third of the twelve runners, beaten a neck and half a length by Was and Shirocco Star.[4] The Daily Express described her as a "desperately unlucky" loser.[5]

The Life and Times of The Fugue in Part.
John Gosden speaking live on Ch4 yesterday said  "We want a nice clean race" .  Sometimes races pan out to be anything but  "a nice clean race" as The Fugue and William Buick found out to their cost, when nearly brought down in the Oaks at Epsom in 2012. The Daily Express described her (The Fugue) as a "desperately unlucky" loser.[5]

With the shocking Bloodhorse Illiteracy found within British political, legal, racecourse and horseracing government issues as this one,  It doesn't matter apparently to government parties if they don't know what on earth they are talking about.  Just one of many other issue on the long list of  Rip Off Britain government evil's.

Lord Derby is 'Bloodhorse Illiterate' He does not belong in the Equus Zone,

News by Graham Green
Racing Post Wednesday June 18, 2014 page 25

"Hood slams 'self-serving' Derby before Hatchfield consultation. "

"LORD DERBY was yesterday accused of talking "embarrassing , self-serving drivel" after he attempted to defuse the controversy  surrounding his latest plans to build 400 homes on his Hatchfield  Farm site in Newmarket.

"His comments came just hours before Forest Heath District Council's planning committee was given a briefing on the development that has aroused opposition in the town and its racing community.

"Hatchfield Farm was refused planning permission for 1,200 houses in March 2012 when Eric Pickles , secretary of state for communities  and local government , turned down the scheme after a two-year fight by campaigners, including the Save Historic Newmarket Action Group led by Rachel Hood.

"Hood, wife of trainer John Gosden and both Newmarket's mayor and a district councillor , was hoping to get back from Royal Ascot in time to attend last night's meeting that was important for all sides with the committee due to make a decision on the scheme  on July 2.

" Earlier Lord Derby insisted he was totally committed to preserving Newmarket's heritage, and "always had the town's best interests at heart" . 'Lord Derby's Bloodhorse Illiterate commitments are not required here. They are out of tune with the purposes of "Save Historic Newmarket Action Group led by Rachel Hood.

"Arguing his case, he said "The planning application currently being considered is for 400 homes, and there is no appetite-and I have no plans-to build more than that. "

"If it goes ahead, and I don't want to prejudice the decision of the planning committee of the council, I believe the development would truly benefit the community of Newmarket as a whole.  Not only would it give the town a much needed economic boost, providing local jobs and injecting cash into local business, but the fact remains that the town, and horseracing community, requires new houses to address growing social needs - both for those who work within horseracing, and those who don't. Lord Derby will prejudice the decision due to the fact he is "Bloodhorse Illiterate" .

"I understand Newmarket is a unique place - and therefore any proposal for its development  will inevitably raise strong arguments among the local community, residents and the horseracing fraternity. I'm sympathetic to their concerns, and I'll keep listening to and engaging with those who will be affected by the plans. I want to have a constructive, ongoing dialogue . If there are any alternative plans that will deliver real benefits to Newmarket in the long-term then I want to hear them. "   "I'm sympathetic to their concerns." No you are not sympathetic to their concerns because you are "Bloodhorse Illiterate" you have no idea what their concerns are even.

"Lord Derby added: "Whatever happens, Newmarket must be the winner. Under the development plan, we have already committed to making a financial contribution to the town's social infrastructure . As someone who is committed to Newmarket and its heritage, I will additionally ensure that, if the application is approved, the town and the horseracing community will materially benefit in the years to come. " As someone who is committed to Newmarket and its heritage, " No Lord Derby you are not committed to 'Newmarket and its heritage' due to the fact that you are "Bloodhorse Illiterate" . You do not belong in the Equus Zone.

"Hood was withering in her response, saying: "For a number of years we've all had to listen to Lord Derby's embarrassing, self-serving drivel and he has actually also said the 400 houses are only part of his ambitions to build, guess what, another 400 and another 400. This is his way of getting a foot in the door to build commuter homes for people working in Cambridge. If Lord Derby was really interested in any shape or form in the wellbeing of Newmarket he would withdraw his application now. " Rachel Hood has achieved  "True Bloodhorse Literacy in her own right. "  Rachel and her husband John Gosden have  both achieved  "True Bloodhorse Literacy Mindsets' in their own right. "  The Fugue's owners the Lloyd-Webbers. Andrew is "bloodhorse Illiterate" . But  Madeline Lloyd Webber has achieved "True Bloodhorse Literacy" in her own right.
