AIR STRIKES? A COWARDS WAY OUT?
Where is the humanitarian compassion? Surely before anymore fighting takes place, this serious humanitarian issue needs emergency practical action on the ground not in the sky. first?
What is the
point of bombing ... taking out a countries day to day lifeline supplies? We are talking about innocent people’s lives
here, their daily existence. All need to be protected and provided for.with
make shift places to stay in, food and hospital medicines for the time being. What about all the little children and their mothers? Their lives will be scared for life, for ever by the horror they are subjected to at present.
What
is needed is help for all the people left every day in the wilderness without anything to exist on. We are being told all are asking for boots on the ground. So why are airstrikes being considered? Bent on destroying everything in sight instead of caring for all the displaced persons.

JOHN GOSDEN

“Gosden: tough to win
title without Kingman
Published in the Racing Post on Wednesday September 24.
Trainer rues loss of Ascot ‘banker’ as
rival Hannon is cut to1-4 for crown:
“JOHN GOSDEN on Tuesday conceded he
faces an uphill battle to regain the champion trainers’ crown following the
retirement of Kingman, as Paddy Power made Richard Hannon 1-4 to land the title
in his first season. Gosden played host to the media in Newmarket on Tuesday at
an event to promote the Cambridgeshire
meeting less than 48 hours after the announcement his stable superstar
Kingman who was being aimed at British Champions Day at Ascot on Saturday
October 18, was still undergoing treatment for a throat infection and had been
retired.
“Gosden said:”I always say nothing is
ever decided in the trainers’ table until around 5pm on Champions Day but, no
doubt about it , Kingman was our banker’
“We may have other runners at Ascot
but he was our main gun and without him I would go odds- on Richard. He and I
often have a lot of banter together through the season and I fully expect him
to come swooping past us at any point. It’s always a ding-dong with them but
this year we got the ding!”
“Gosden, who won the title in 2012
before relinquishing it to Richard Hannon snr last year, is now 11-4 (from 6-1)
with Paddy Power to reclaim the championship, although he is still more than
£230,000 clear of the Hannon Team. Aidan O’Brien, well over £1million adrift,
is a 20-1 shot.
“The absence of Kingman who had been
the1-3 favourite, from the Queen Elizabeth 11 Stakes opens the door to Hannon,
who has last year’s winner Olympic Glory, Toronado and Kingman’s 2,000
conqueror Night Of Thunder among the leading fancies for the Ascot Group 1 on Saturday
October 18.
“Gosden added: “Kingman hadn’t been
out of the yard for 10 days and we ran out of time. I think Ascot would have
been the last dance for him as I knew in my heart of hearts that would have
been it, but at least he went out when there was still a shine of the ball.
“We hadn’t discussed a four- year-old
campaign for him as he would have been running in the same races, although I
always said he would have won a July- Cup we ran third in it this year with a
horse [Gregorian] who wouldn’t have been in the same gallop as Kingman. “
“ Despite having no run in the QE2, Gosden is
still hoping to be represented in some of the feature races on Champions Day,
although Royal Ascot winner Eagle Top will not be part of his team.
“We hope to run Western Hymn in the
Champion Stakes but Eagle Top is now finished until next year, when he’ll make
a lovely four-year-old, “ Gosden said, “We
also have Pomology and Sultanina for the Fillies’ and Mares’ race. “
“Kingman will shortly be standing
alongside Frankel at Banstead Manor Stud and comparisons are inevitable.
“Gosden said: “It would have been a
great race over a mile between them, but I think we’d be wearing the green cap
[owner] Khalid Abdullah’s second colour’s] ! I think Kingman would have beaten
Frankel over six furlongs, but he would have turned the tables over a mile and
a quarter. “
