 PAUSE FOR THOUGHT
RPNEWS
Graham Green "McGrath is free to carry on calling ....

"THE distinctive tones of the BBC's leading race-caller Jim McGrath and those of three of his colleagues will continue to be heard on British courses after they were given the thumbs-up following a six-month review of their performances.

"Jim McGrath: will continue to be heard on British racecourses."

"Also cleared to continue their careers behind the microphone are Channel 4 regular and At The Races host Derek Thompson - who is taking a short break from the sport while he receives cancer treatment - Darren Owen, who was a member of the BBC's Grand National team alongside McGrath, and Ian Mackenzie.

"Tracks, racegoers and punters leapt to the defence of the four after the Racing Post broke the story in December that their careers were under threat, but while none of them have been notified their positions are safe, it is understood they would have been individually informed by now were their services no longer required.

"The commentators have been warned their contracts will be terminated if they speak about the matter to the press, but they are known to have been unhappy at being subjected to a review conducted by the panel that oversees the roster.

"Before the ban on  discussing the matter was imposed, McGrath likened the situation to being placed on "death row".

"The Commentator User Group (CUG) which comprises representatives from RaceTech, the Racecourse Association, Racing UK, Turf TV, At The Races and SIS, refused to comment on the grounds of confidentiality but it is expected to draw a line under the affair at its meeting next Wednesday with the third quarter commentating rota already under way, and the circulation off applications for work dates for October, November and December.

"However, uncertainty still surrounds the three newcomers to the 2012 commentating list, Matt Chapman, Gary Capewell and John Blance, whose  official six-month trials ended on Saturday. All were scheduled to cover 15 meetings, although in some cases that number was reduced by abandonment's. The three have been asked to submit what they consider to be their five best commentaries for the CUG review before a decision is taken on whether to offer them future contracts.

RIP OFF BRITAIN ZONE
Jim puts this whole shocking issue into sharp perspective here when he sums it up by saying  "Before the ban on discussing the matter was imposed, McGrath likened the situation to being placed on "death row".

There are any amount of people who work in racing who feel just the same, as if they are placed on "death row".

Many who have achieved true professional "Bloodhorse Literacy" in their own right are being made scapegoats by the "Bloodshorse Illiterate  British Horseracing Government  to save face. Anything to divert attention away from what they themselves are doing or not doing as the case may be.

It is blatantly obvious that the British Political Government and the British Horseracing Government believe they can run British horseracing by totally ignoring the needs of the horses and the needs of the bloodhorse literate handler rider achievers. In other words these two governments  in their horseracing business plan  believe they can make and take huge revenue out of  running horseracing on the cheap without the skills of the bloodhorse literate. They clearly take the view that it does not matter how the horses are treated or how those who mind the horses are treated. Or how many horses are left lying dead out on the racetracks at British racemeetings. All taken for granted by government. Political  Government upside the British Horseracing Government upsides the Banks upsides the British Legal Justice System upsides the Medical Profession upsides the County Counsil's

To dare to take even the smallest peep as to how this country is being run, you find yourself drawn  straight into Charles Dickens Novels and Anna Sewell's Black Beauty. As Jim McGrath puts it "Like being on Death Row" Meeting up with horrific Charles Dickens characters holding all the best jobs, all tarred with the same brush greed.  At present the Banks greed. The Andrew Marr Show BBC 1 last Sunday. We even hear people say "Will the Bankers be prosecuted?"

Why do any of us who live and work in this country deserve to be taken for granted in such a calous and uncaring way by government, any and all government? Abuse of power on a massive scale, blighting peoples lives daily, effecting billions of people every day.  The rot is everywhere right across the board.

Worst of all failing all the teenagers. Failing to guide the teenagers, the school levers when the time comes for them to go out into the real world. What a shock to find out what the real world is like.
