Mark
Storey: "CHAPPLE=HYAM KEEPS HYDROGEN AS HE FACES PROBE
"HYDROGEN,
the most expensive yearling bought at auction worldwide last year, will remain
with multiple Classic-winning trainer Peter Chapple-Hyam while hw fights
charges of misleading a British Horseracing Authority Government investigation
and refusing to supply complete telephone records.
"David
Redvers, racing and bloodstock manager to HYDROGEN owner Shiekh Fahad, moved to
support Chapple-Hyam before a hearing at BHA headquarters in London , where the disciplinary panel will ponder
whether he has breached rules that carry maximum penalties of a three- year
disqualification.
"
Chapple-Hyam who two months ago received Qatar Racing's 2.5 million guineas son
of GALILEO, a half brother to his 2007 Derby winner Authorised, called Redvers
to warn him about the BHS's charges.
Redvers
said: "I've spoken to Pete, who let me know the news was breaking. He's
explained to me his version of events and, as long as something else does not
come to light, we see no reason to change the training programme for HYDROGEN
or any of our other horses with him. We have complete confidence in Pete."
