young ones begin to consider their career path. It is possible that Robert
Thonton may have started his physical and mental career path before he was 12
years of age. The physical part of his chosen horseracing career ended on
Friday April 25 on the Chepstow racecourse whilst he was introducing novice
hurdler Say When to hurdle racing, for trainer Alan King. However Thornton
still has his mental career path intact, the mental hard earned bloodhorse
literate part of his career he has been fortunate to retain. An art desperately in need of establishing throughout horseracing worldwide.

“BARNEY CURLEY is best known for
his legendary gambling exploits and as a charity fundraiser, but the former trainer
has now turned political campaigner after erecting a banner on his stud urging David Cameron to do more to
help Syrian refugees.
“The 75-year-old said he had put
up the sign along the London Road near Newmarket because he believes someone
has to make a stand.
“The prime minister has pledged
to admit 20,000 refugees to Britain over the next five years, but Curley, who
has volunteered to take refugees into
his home at Cleveland House on the Hamilton Road in Newmarket when they start arriving from
Syrian camps this year, thinks that is not enough.
“He said: “It’s a national
disgrace for David Cameron to be making a big deal of taking 20,000 refugees
over five years, then taking that money off his foreign aid budget.
“This is a tragedy and when they
come the refugees will certainly be welcome at my house. To see these six month
old babies dying is heartbreaking, especially when you remember the greatest
love is a woman’s love for her child.”
