CAMELOT - JOSEPH O'BRIEN
distance 1m6f+ Going Good.
One interesting factor in yesterday's running of the St Leger the fact that John Gosden fielded three
colts in this race THOUGHT WORTHY - WILLIAM BUICK,
MICHELANGELO - FRANKIE
DETTORI (3rd) and DARTFORD - ROBERT HAVLIN.
Another DANCING BRAVE GREVILLE STARKEY scenario, as happened
with C4 Emma Spencer (M's) riding in the charity race at Goodwood last time.
Accuracy in judging the pace best to err on the side of caution. To stay just
off the pace .... too far off the pace, even laying yourselves open to
misjudging your options within the pace being set.
PERSPECTIVE IN HINDSIGHT
We can all pass judgement in the jungle of other peoples opinions. Within other peoples perspectives.
2012
CAMELOT - JOSEPH O'BRIEN as a three year old, four runs, three wins and yesterday in this historic race second to ENCKE - MICKAEL BARZALONA.
JOSEPH was caught out with CAMELOT
in yesterday St Leger possibly because he was riding to get the trip and erring
on the side of caution, but in doing so he restricted CAMELOT'S stride leaving
CAMELOT out of touch with the actual pace tempo being set, JOSEPH left CAMELOT
with far too much to do, too late, out of sync, out of tune with the pace being
set, the key tick tock tempo accuracy of this race as it panned out to be, as
was picked up by the head on camera catching JOSEPH having to resort to frantic
bustle up, hurry up measure messages which CAMELOT was unable to respond to fully
quick enough. to give JOSEPH what he was asking for. .
CAMELOT
's amazing length of stride when racing on a galloping track uninhibited, by
anyone else's rough riding is CAMELOT' S super power he can't respond fully if
bustled up at the last minute. That CAMELOT did respond to JOSEPH'S late call
as best he could in the circumstances devouring and make up ground fast when
hitting his true stride scope.
CAMELOT and JOSEPH a brilliant partnership, a joy to watch and observe all this Flat Season, win loose or draw. Its the taking part that matters and the way in which JOSEPH and CAMELOT have taken part that shines through so brightly, kindness, gentleness true understanding the hall mark of greatness JOSEPH a highly skilled talent at just 19 years old.

JOSEPH
and CAMELOT PUT THE GREAT BACK INTO BRITAIN and IRELAND every single day. YES, YES, YES
