EQUUS ZONE
ARE JOCKEYS WASTING TOO MUCH? YES
PLUS Massive work overload - punishing schedules
JMC Comment: This should never be happening, that it is happening, and getting worse
24-7 is due to the British horseracing government bloodhorse illiteracy and failure to realise there is an Equus Zone, and that they are responsible for keeping handler rider skills at the top of the game, not disregarded completely as is at present. The BHA have locked themselves into a time warp centuries out of date. Leaving all the young ones just starting out to face unsurmountable Equus problems and difficulties totally alone, every day.

CH4 McGRATH blasts 'discriminatory' new BHA Sunday bonus scheme
CH4 McGRATH blasts 'discriminatory' new BHA Sunday bonus scheme
"FORMER BHA board member Jim McGrath yesterday lambasted the BHA over the new Sunday racing bonus scheme, claiming there is no justification why it should discriminate against owners who are not members of the Racehorse Owners Association, writes Lewis Porteous.
"The BHA revealed on Sunday that the scheme, developed in conjunction with the BHA
and Racecourse Association, would boost prize-money for two contests every Sunday by £5,000 per race with the aim being to improve competitiveness and field sizes.
"However, while winning owners affiliated to the ROA will receive £3, 150 of the bonus, the return to non-ROA members will be £1,000.
"McGrath: said "I am waiting for a response from Ruth Quinn [BHA director], I've asked how the decision was reached and why the distribution is as has been described. There is no reason why owners who are not members of the ROA should be descriminated against."
"McGrath strongly criticised a similar scheme set up by the Horsemen's Group last year, under which only members of its trade bodies were eligible for extra prize-money, and the fact this latest version has been commissioned by the BHA has led to further irritation. It's been done by the governing body this time and it beggars belief. Owners who are not members of the ROA have exactly the same costs associated with owning and keeping horses as those who are. In any case, they already pay more money than members of the ROA because they don't get discounts, which I think are also illegal.
JMC; Comment. A Scam Horsemen's Group HG group not made up with true top professional Equus Zone horsemen who's job it should be to ensure that all Equus Zone matters are properly attended to, and in a timely manner. Instead we see bloodhorse illiterate people illegally posturing as Equus Zone personel taking jobs they are not qualified to carry out at all, not by a long chalk. A Highly Dangerous and totally unacceptable dishonest scam.
"If you join the ROA you get discounts on certain subscriptions and a reduction on various Wetherbys charges. Those reductions were estimated by Chris Brand, when he was financial director of the BHA, as costing the industry £400,000 a year. So ROA members are already benefiting."
"Rachel Hood, president of the ROA, disagrees with McGrath and believes ROA members are fully entitled to enjoy increased benefits from such schemes.
"Writing in February's Thoroughbred Owner and Breeder, she said: Most of the work the ROA undertakes is to the benefit of all owners, not just ROA undertakes is to the benfit of all owners, not just ROA members. In the belief that non-members get a free ride, we have no conpunction in advocating schemes that favour ROA members.
"Non-members of the trade body will be contacted in the build-up to Sunday bonus
races - which start this weekend at Musselburgh and Lingfield - and be offered the chance to join up.
