“GRAHAM DENCH,  Cartier  Racing Awards. Emotional night as Hills is honoured for achievements. Barry Hills brought the house down in London last night as he was named this year’s Cartier/ Daily Telegraph Award of Merit winner at the star-studded Cartier Awards ceremony at the Dorchester Hotel.

“The award goes to the person who has done most for European racing or breeding either over their lifetime or in the last twelve months, and there could hardly have been a more popular, or deserving recipient than Hills, who handed over his license in August after years of battling throat cancer, and then a life-threatening bout of septicaemia …”
