THE RACING POST SUNDAY NOVEMBER 13th 2011
RACING POST WEEK MONDAY 7th TO SUNDAY NOVEMBER 13th 2011
SUNDAY NOVEMBER 13th 2011, this day, the last day of the fourth week that the New Bloodhorse Illiterate British Horseracing Authority Regulators (BHA) have enforced their own bloodhorse illiterate whip rules, relating to their Whip Review document some 78 pages long ( in theory) rules that have been put into operation without any trials. (in practice)
IN PRACTICE the positive fall out has been Christophe Summillon’s words to the world of horseracing made after the whip ban and draconian punishment he received partnering CIRRUS DES AIGLES to win on Champions’ Day Saturday October 15th about different rules in different countries causing problems for jockeys coming in to ride from abroad.
The BHA confiscated the £52,000.00 Soumillon had won by partnering CIRRUS DES AIGLES (FR) 5 9-3 Eventually this money was handed back to Soumillon.
4.10 Qipco Champions Stakes (British Champions Middle Distance) (Group 1) (Class 1) for 3yo's + over 1m2f winner £737,230 LIVE BBC1WIN: CIRRUS DES AIGLES (FR) 5 9-3 partner CHRISTOPHE SOUMILLON handler presenter? trainer Mme C Barande-Barbe (FR) for Jean-Claude-Alain Dupouy 12-1 from SO YOU THINK 7-4f third SNOW FAIRY 8-2
IT COULD BE SAID that the BHA’S New Whip Rules have received a troubled passage “In Practice” over the last month.
KEY QUESTIONS RELATING TO THE BHA'S WORKING PRACTICES WITH STILL NO BLOODHORSE LITERATE WHIP REVIEW GUIDANCE FOR RIDERS?
Where is the BHA’S Bloodhorse Literate Whip Review? Clear guidance to their professionally licensed riders’ ? Or is the BHA of the opinion that all bloodhorse literate achievers are so thick that they can only just manage to count to eight?
Or do these BHA regulators expect that each rider take the 78 page Whip Review Document round with them whilst they are competing to win a race?
The two gentlemen that the BHA Regulators hired to carry out their year long Whip Review Jamie Stier and Tim Morris both bloodhorse illiterate, at what cost, the final bill for a bloodhorse illiterate whip review?
The BHA tell us that they have granted close on four hundred professional riding licenses’ surely this whole whip issue calls into question the present working practices used within the BHA’S Licensing Department. One would have thought that before granting anyone a professional riding license, the use of the whip would be a key issue in deciding whether to licence a rider or to refer that rider for further tuition regarding that person’s perception of the use of the whip.
