Frankel's International a day to cherish - Cecil

Ryan Moore breaks left wrist in Warwick fall


"RYAN MOORE will miss the entire Ebor festival at York and beyond as he confirmed that he broke his left wrist in a fall at Warwick on Tuesday evening."Moore, who secured the latest Group 1 victory of his career on Snow Fairy at Deauville on Sunday, suffered the injury when his mount Cresta Star slipped on the home bend, and the former champion jockey, writing in his Betfair column, felt the fall was avoidable.

"He said: "I don't know how long I will be out for, but I can tell you that I am not happy. In my opinion, the problem was that the grass [on the bend] was far too long and lush, and that can always cause problems .......


"And when I went into the bend on Cresta Star I was never balanced.  I had hold of her head but when the favourite came round, I got a bit tight and she lost her back end and slipped .....

Settled in mid-division, Dettori was travelling ominously well on the five-year-old as the 19-strong field entered the home straight, positioned towards the centre of the track as the field stayed far side.
