RICHARD HUGHES RACING POST FEATURE SATURDAY OCTOBER 25.
TODAY’S RUNNERS
THIS is not a particularly busy Saturday
for me but I’ll be hoping to get it off
to the best possibly start with Lexington Times in the Worthington’s-backed
Horris Hill Stakes (1.50) at Newbury.
“He has been well placed by Richard and
the Middleham Park Racing team because this appears to be a very winnable Group
3. Looking at the six runners’ official ratings he ought to be coming out on
top and his ability to handle soft ground-he showed that when winning his
maiden at Newmarket-should be huge.
“My other Group-race mount is a mare I
know well, Quiz Mistress. The ground will be right up her street and if they go
quick she has a hell of a chance in the St Simon Stakes (2.20).
J Margaret Clarke Turfcall Factfile. Taking a closer look at these two races.
RACE 1.50 NEWBURY The Horris Hill Stakes 7f. 8 ran. Going Soft
(going stick 5,4)
Team (Richard) Hannon had two colts challenging for this race.
Lexington Times backed down to 2-1f and Smaih 7-1. Both these colts have run six
times each this year.

218313 Smaih-Frankie Dettori sp 7-1
213338 Lexington Times-Richard Hughes sp 2-1f
The betting stats show that Lexington Times was considered the best of these two,
2 year old Hannon colts. The pre-race "Market Movers" will have shown this. Plus the fact that Richard Hughes was to partner Lexington Times and not Smaih-Frankie Dettori.

Lexington Times partner Richard Hughes : Hughes says: “ability to handle soft ground
should serve him well. ”
Pic shows: Richard Hughes in the saddle of Lexington Times, in one of his previous races being asked to quicken. Lexington Times left eye borders on fear here. What it does show most however is uncertainty, almost like he is thinking to himself “Where am I." "Am I safe or not? Or what? Do I know the person in my saddle? Can I trust the person in my saddle? n
WIN: Sky Hunter (GB) 4 9-4 partner James Doyle for Team (Saeed) Bin Suroor for Godolphin 7-2f distance 7 lengths.
4th Quiz Mistress (GB) 6 9-1 partner Richard Hughes Team (Hughie) Morrison for The Fairy Story Partnership . 8-1. Slow start, held-up, when asked out of depth.
