Yes, yes, yes, Rishi, you to needed with Nick Luck . And calling for Alice (in wonderland) Plunkett to keep the true balance, now that sadly Clare Balding is unable to take her true place. Perhaps Emma Spencer as well to balance to uphold the rights and needs of the racehorses and the people who work with the racehorses every day. All those who belong in the true Racing Right Equus Zone, as Alice, Clare and Emma do.

2015 PREVIEW
BIG YEAR FOR … QATAR
RACING.
Published RP Wednesday January 7 2015. Page 1 and 8.
Nicholas Godfrey on a well-oiled operation craving a British Classic breakthrough.
Nicholas introduces us to the owner of Elm Park, Sheikh Fahad Qatar Racing Limited.
Three-
year- old- colt Elm Park in training with Team (Andrew) Balding Kingsclere an
exciting major Classic contender this year, following his two -year -old success when winning The Group
1 Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster in October 2014 with ease.
Owner
Sheikh Fahad of Qater Racing has replaced global flat turf jockey’s Jamie
Spencer and Harry Bentley, with Andrea Atzeni and Oisin Murphy for 2015.
Sheikh
Fahad drew a blank at Royal Ascot 2014, but his claret and gold silks were
carried to victory by Elm Park in the
Group 1 Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster in October.

Racing leads the drive for increase in domestic success.

RACE RECORD
OWNER'S
SHEIKH'S HAMAD, SUHAIM AND FAHAD AL THANI, QATAR RACING LIMITED
Bloodstock
Manager David Redvers (GB)
Responsible
for 230-plus racehorses in training worldwide.
With
more than 50 global trainers on the roster worldwide.
First
formed in 2011. The 2014 the 3rd flat turf season the best yet. Drew
a blank first half at Royal Ascot and notice served on the retainers of Jamie
Spencer and Harry Bentley, in favour of rising stars Andrea Atzeni and Oisin
Murphy.
Qatar
Racing had to wait until Classic hope Elm Park won the Racing Post Trophy in
October for their first Group 1 success in their distinctive claret-and-gold
silks. Given that Qipco parent company of Qatar Racing, had only recently signed
up as Ascot’s first commercial partner at the royal meeting, it is easy why
there might have been a certain level of frustration.
“Obviously
it was disappointing, “ says Redvers. “For an organisation of our size, that is
our Olympics, and we had seven or eight places without winning; we ended up
with a lot of silvers and bronzes but no golds!
“Fortunately,
at the end of the season we had six or seven golds, so things did look a bit
better.. “
“Indeed
they did , especially after the Andrew Balding- trainer Elm Park ensured the
Qatar Racing silks did not go the full season without hitting the Group 1
winners enclosure in Britain – although strictly speaking they had already had
one winner, as they were partners in Charm Spirit, who won the QE11.
“Our
highlight was winning with Elm Park, a very exciting colt who was relatively inexpensively
bought. Says Redvers, he looks like a work in progress even now so it’s amazing
he achieved what he did as a two-year-old.
“Looking
at him physically you’d think he had have had one or two runs as a juvenile at
best- and part of the highlight there for everyone to see was the shared
enjoyment of owning a winner. Kingsclere [part-owners] are an amazing bunch of
syndicate members, and Sheikh Fahad was jumping
up and down with the rest of them.
“
ELM PARK’S victory was notable for more than one reason, as he was partnered by
Alzini, who spent the latter part of the season trying his hand on the Qatar
juveniles.
“The
pressure’s off him now- he’s got his Group 1 out of the way and his feet are
under the table, “ says Redvers who is excited by Qatar’s new dynamic duo of Atzeni
and Murphy. “By general consensus Andrea is the most exciting young jockey
riding at the moment and to have him on the team is wonderful, while Oisin has already shown he’s a rare talent. “
“Much
of the improvement in Qatar’s fortunes
in 2014 came on the international stage, where Trade Storm and Just The
Judge claimed top prize in Canada, while south of the US border there was also
a startling 23-1 success for the Olly Stevens-trained Pease and War on the
Keeneland dirt in the Grade Darley Alcibiades. Although she missed the Breeder’s
Cup after a set back, the daughter of War Front is to be sent on her travels again-with
an ambitious target. “Her aim will be the Kentucky Oaks, “ says . “Redfers. “That
Keenland win was probably our greatest achievement, really.
“For
a rookie trainer to take an 86-rated filly out of America and turn her into the
top-rated two-year-old dirt filly was quite amazing. Her form was completely
franked at the Breeders’ Cup- one imagines if she had got there and run up to
that, she’d have won it. “
“Back
at home, much again rests on the shoulders of Elm Park, quoted high in
ante-post betting for the Qipco 2,000 Guineas
and the Investic Derby after his
Doncaster triumph. Redvers suggested the Epsom Classic will me more up the son
of Phoenix’s Reach alley, saying: “He’s
our obvious number 1 because he’s already a Group 1 winner, but you do have to
question if a mile at Newmarket is going to be his best trip. It’s unlikely, as
he won over a mile at Doncaster at two, but hopefully it will work as the
perfect prep if he doesn’t win it. “
“Redvers
also speaks highly of a darker type in the Kevin Ryan-trained Flaming Spear,
who’s pedigree suggests he ought to be more suited to the Guineas. “We’ve got
some very exciting horses who won their maidens very well and he looked the
most exciting we’d got simply because of the manner he won his York maiden.
“He’s
suffered a minor injury thereafter and was put away, but the form has worked
very well and he did it like a definite Group colt. “
“More
immediately, globetrotters such as Trade
Storm, Just The Judge and Side Glance will be on their travels yet again. A select
Qatar team half- a –dozen strong is expected at the Dubai Carnival, with
sprinters Green Door and Extortionist among those joining the party. A nice
prize or two at Meydan would be welcome, but higher on the Qatar Racing agenda are
top races closer to home.
“What
we really want is to be winning the best races and to be doing it regularly,
and I think we are well placed to have a kick at that, “ says Redvers. “What we really want are those top-flight
winners, be they Classics or Ascot or Goodwood or Champions Day.
“Nothing
would please Sheikh Fahad’s brothers more than winning the Derby but I suspect
he would love nothing more than to win a Guineas, which would be magnificent
after two close seconds.
“What
we would love more than anything else would be to win a British Classic; that
has to be our absolute ambition. “
Taking a much closer look at some of these smart racehorses in training. The skills of each trainer team vital every single day.

LASIX:
AND INTERFERANCE RULES.
“Battle
lines drawn in the US. Battle lines need to be drawn in Britain and worldwide
horseracing as well. Need to be contained
properly within True Bloodhorse Literate Global Rules of Horseracing. Together with a True Medication
Zone facility. These racehorses have an absolute right to be prevented from
horrific pain and suffering when injured. To leave all this stuff in the air is
not fair to any true horsemen worldwide, as neither is it fair on the
racehorses in training, or their jockeys. Or the owners. Racehorses in training who get badly
injured coming back crippled from racecourses due to most horseracing countries
that don’t bother to have “Interference Rules “ another shocking evil,
oversight that has to change.
