Career[edit]  Ruby Walsh

Showing talent from an early age, Walsh won the Irish amateur title twice, in 1996/7 (aged 18) and 1997/8, before turning professional.[1] He won the English Grand National in 2000 at his first attempt, aged 20, on Papillon,[2] a horse trained by his father and owned by Mrs J Maxwell Moran.[1] Father and son then went on to win the Irish Grand National with Commanche Court the same year. In the 2004/5 season Walsh won three of the four Nationals: the Irish on the 2006 Grand National winner,Numbersixvalverde, the Welsh on subsequent 2007 Grand National winner Silver Birch, and the English on Hedgehunter. He rode Cornish Rebel in the Scottish, but was beaten a short head by Joe's Edge. However, he had earlier success in that race on Take Control in 2002 and he and Tony McCoy are the only jockeys currently riding to have won all four Nationals .

Who can ever trust this man?
This country is being governed by people using dark age government methods that should have been left on the dark age rubbish dump where they belong. Same as British horseracing is being governed by a lethal deadly male attitude of evil.

ROSS BIRKETT shows skill before Australia trip
Wolverhampton
Rodney Masters

“EXACTLY a week before he leaves Newmarket for three months in Australia Ross Birkett kept in shape for the 12 lots a morning awaiting him with Gai Waterhouse in Sydney when he landed the 6f handicap for amateurs on Waterloo Dock.
“Birkett, 25, who won the trip under the Alex Scott scholarship scheme, has not given a thought to packing. He said: There is no point because I will be riding out for Mum[trainer Julia Feilden] on the day I fly. “I’m really looking forward to the experience. http://www.juliafeildenracing.com/

“I’m not sure what the amateur scene is like out there, but I have no plans to ride. With 12 lots a day I’ll be fit enough to resume here when I return in May and I’ll be giving it a good go again on the grass. As an amateur that is call you can do because it’s all a bit of fun. “
Birkett , who’s final ride before travelling will be at Lingfield on Friday , was required to ditch plan A to make all on Waterloo Dock when the 10 year old reared in the stalls as the gates opened.
“He said; “My strict orders were to make all, but when that went wrong I thought I’d keep him wide because perhaps because he doesn’t like being crowded. It was his first run on Tapita and he moved well on it. Even at his age he’s as game as anything. “
