QIPCO CHAMPIONS DAY

REVIEW YESTERDAY AT ASCOT
Saturday October 21st 2012

OUR OWN QUEEN ELIZABETH'S RACECOURSE HOSTS QIPCO CHAMPIONS DAY

The people came from far and wide including our Queen,  a sell out,  32 thousand people

packing the New Ascot stands to the rafters to see the unbeaten FRANKEL run what was to

be his 14th and last race. Would he win yet again and retire to stud unbeaten with 14 wins

under his girth?

Or would the heavy ground blunt his amazing speed? Heavy rain fell all week on the Ascot

racetrack, how would the turf cope with such rain? What would the ground be like by

Saturday? Would FRANKEL be able to run and find his true form on such sodden turf? As

Paul Cole said the day before in the Racing Post, "The ground is the only thing that will beat

FRANKEL and spoil the party".

Fortunately the rain stayed away on Saturday and did not spoil the party, FRANKEL

won his 14th and last race in great style. All was well TEAM CECIL leaving no stone

unturned in caring for FRANKEL'S every need, at the starting gate TOM QUEALLY aboard

FRANKEL met up with horse whisperer Yarmie (Steve Dibble) who lead him quietly into his

allocated starting stall. All was well. After Sir Henry told us that FRANKEL was very aware

of the huge crowds. Lady Jane told us that she would not be using the flash on her camera,

as she didn't want a divorce. What a day to remember forever. Amazing. Truly Great.
