"November
"A HAIRY START! Meet the Racing Post Team for growing whiskers in Movember.
David himself, Mattie Batchelor, Dominic
Fox, David Crosse, Timmy Murphy, Tom Segal, Paul Struthers, and Andrew
Thornton.
"THIS Movember, the Racing Post has put together
another star-studded, if mildly alarming, line-up of individuals from the racing world who are embracing the
month of November by growing a moustache in order to raise funds for Prostate
Cancer UK, the Racing Post's charity partner for 2012.
"Captaining
this years team is Pricewise guru Tom Segal, who is favouring the Fu Manchu
style of tache, with the Professional Jockeys Association's Paul Struthers'
attempt coming along nicely too.
"There
is some improvement needed from jockeys David Crosse and Mattie Batchelor, who
said: "It's for a great cause and important to get involved every
year. I will be working on my
moustache over the next few weeks as
it's a bit of a slow starter."
"Any
readers interested in signing up to the Racing Post Movember team can simply
visit www.movember.com and search Racing Post, or support the team's efforts by
donating some of your punting money each weekend to the worthy cause.
"Sandown
racecourse took Movember to another level at its Gentlemen's Day meeting last Saturday by painting a giant
moustache in the parade ring.
"The
Jockey Club-owned track named two of its
seven races in support of Movember -The Movember And Sons Hairy Conditional
Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle and the Spitfire Ale Juvenile Hurdle. Anyone taking
part in the Movember campaign was eligible for a £5 discount on admission by
producing their Movember registration form at the gate."

This filly finds herself up on the
wide open downland
above West
Ilsley she is finding the panoramic view
of such wide open downland space
confusing,
she is uncertain about finding
herself in such a place

no trust or confidence in her rider.
She has a lot to learn,
but she won't be
learning anything up there
